Loura's House

Building A
Legacy of Love

Improving the lives of rural and low-income families by ensuring equitable access to essential everyday resources.

About Loura's House

Loura’s House is a nonprofit organization founded in loving memory of Loura Lynett Thompson, whose life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, joy, and unconditional love.

Born with Down syndrome, Loura loved the Lord, going to church and had a remarkable gift—she loved everyone she met and stood firmly in support of others, always offering kindness, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

At Loura’s House, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported—just as Loura made others feel every day.

Through community outreach, advocacy, and acts of service, we strive to build a legacy of love, inclusion, and hope that honors her life.
